2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... Pakistan Win Champions Trophy in Grand Style ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

Pakistan won the 2017 Champions Trophy in grand style at the Oval. They bested their traditional rivals India by an overwhelming margin of 180 runs. It was an all round display of Pakistan batting, bowling and fielding. India won the toss and elected to filed, that seemed to be the only thing they won, as it was all downhill for India after that. Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant century as Pakistan built an imposing score of 338 for 4 wicket. Mohammed Amir took 3 quick wickets to dent India's confidence and but for some stray hitting by Hardik Pandya it was Pakistan all the way.

Hail the new Champions ... Pakistan.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... India march into the Final dominating Bangladesh ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

India put up a commanding show and entered the finals of the  ICC Champions Trophy by beating Bangladesh comprehensively. India put Bangladesh into bat and for a while it seemd to back fire on them; Bangladesh made a very good start and were well placed at 154 for 2 in the 28th over. Tamim Iqbal's departure for a well made 70 runs seemed to put the brakes on the run rate and Bangladesh manged to score only 264 for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The tight Indian bowling attack delivered during the second half of the innings.

India in reply got off to a flying start from Shikar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. The departure of the in form Shikar Dhawan for 46 runs brought skipper Virat Kohli to the crease. Kohli and Sharma treated the crowd to some exquisite batting and took India to vistory with the score at 265 for 1 in the beginning of the 41st over. Rohit Sharma scored a magnificent century and cremained unbeaten with 123 to his credit. Virat Kohli missed out a century narrowly compling an impeccable 96 not out.

Stage has been set for the India Pakistan final to be played on June 18.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... Pakistan storm into the Final thrashing England ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

Pakistan stormed into the finals of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy by thrashing England by eight wickets at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. England who were the overwhelming favorites had a very poor forgettable day; despite a strong start they failed to consolidate and were bundled out for 211 in 49.3 overs. The Pakistan bowling was spot on and despite lack of wickets initially they managed to reduce England from a strong position of 128 for 2 to 211 all out.

For a change the Pakistan batting was very strong and emphatic with Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali giving a rousing start of 118 runs for the first wicket. Babar Azam and Hafeez continued the good work of the openers and took Pakistan to a shocking one sided win. Who said Cricket was a predictable game ?

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... Pakistan enter semi-finals edging out Sri Lanka ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

Pakistan entered the semi-finals of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy by winning a hard fought match against Sri Lanka played at Cardiff. In a match of fluctuating fortunes Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed anchored an unbeaten 61 to see Pakistan reach the target of 237 set by Sri Lanka. For the islanders it was once again a case of missed opportunities with sloppy fielding and catching. Reprieving Sarfaraz Ahmed twice during the eighth wicket stand will haunt the Sri Lankans. Listen to Anjum Chopra's perceptive analysis of this crucial encounter.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... India make to semi-finals drubbing S.Africa ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

India resumed its winning ways when it mattered by drubbing South Africa in their Group B encounter at ICC Champions Trophy at the Oval. South Africa after a sedate start and looking to accelerate at 140 for 2, their batsmen committed repeated hara-kiri and ended with a paltry score of 191 runs. Indian batsmen lost no time in hitting those runs, with Shikar Dhawan again in sparkling form. Listen to Anjum Chopra's precise analysis of what went right for India and what went wrong for South Africa.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... England win convincinly and knock out Australia ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

England completed Australia's cup of misery in the 2017 ICC Champions trophy by beating them in a convincing fashion. Though Duckworth-Lewis method was used to declare England as the winners in a rain interrupted game, there were no doubts England were very close to winning the match before the rains intervened. For Australia it was a story of missed opportunities. They could not put up a commanding total despite many Aussie batsmen getting a good start. Likewise the Aussie bowling department after skittling out three quick English wickets, could not prevent Morgan and Stokes from taking the game away. Stand out perfmers for England were Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes. Listen to Anjum Chopra's delightful expert comments.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... India Vs Sri Lanka ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

Sri Lanka surprised India with a fantastic batting performance. Given a formidable 322 runs as the target, the new breed of Sri Lankan batsmen blazed their way to glory. Reminded me of the 1996 Sri Lanka batting line-up. Kusal Mendis, Daniushka Gunthilaka and Kusal Perera made everyone forget that this team was missing greats like Sangakkara and Jayawardene. Sri Lanka have announced themselves on the big stage and cricket is all the more better and competitive. Listen to Anjum Chopra's analysis.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... England Vs New Zealand ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

England became the first team to qualify for semi-finals at the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. In today's marquee match England defeated New Zealand by a very comfortable margin of 87 runs. England batsmen scored in a steady manner and put up a good total of 310 runs helped in no small measure by Butler's quick fire 61. The Kiwis were simply not up to the task and kept losing wickets. Their skipper Kane Williamson fought a lone battle with 87 glorious runs.  All in all a disappointing day for the Kiwis and a great one for England. Hear the post game analysis by Anjum Chopra with her special insights.

Please listen to the special shout-out by Anjum Chopra for listener Harpal Singh Sidhu, at the 11.00 minute mark of the video.

2017 ICC Champions Trophy ... India Vs Pakistan ... Analysis By Anjum Chopra

The Mother of all Cricket Matches took place today. The Fourth Match of the ICC Champions Trophy saw India defeat arch rival Pakistan by a comprehensive margin of 124 runs (D/L). India batting first started cautiously and did not allow rain delays to upset them A century partnership by the opening pair of Rohit Sharma & Shikar Dhawan was consolidated brilliantly by Yuvraj Singh & Virat Kohli. Hardik Pandya justified his promotion up the batting order by smashing 3 successive sixes while India posted a score of 319 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 48 overs. Owing to rain delays Pakistan was to score 289 in 41 overs, but it proved to be a daunting task and they folded for 164. The fielding on both sides was below par with dropped catches and mis-fields. Hear the delightful Anjum Chopra India's former skipper and IPL commentator, analyze India's dominance.

The Third Match of the ICC Champions Trophy saw South Africa defeat Sri Lanka by a convincing margin of 96 runs. South Africa posted a a score of 299 runs, thanks to a brilliant century by Hashim Amla. Sri Lanka had an excellent start and had one time the score at 116 for 2 after 17 overs. which looked like being on target. However Imran Tahir spun the ball viciously and celebrated even more exuberantly to take 4 wickets for 28 runs. He deserved the Man of the Match award. Listen to the scintillating analysis by Anjum Chopra India's former skipper and IPL commentator.
