India batting first started cautiously and did not allow rain delays to upset them A century partnership by the opening pair of Rohit Sharma & Shikar Dhawan was consolidated brilliantly by Yuvraj Singh & Virat Kohli. Hardik Pandya justified his promotion up the batting order by smashing 3 successive sixes while India posted a score of 319 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 48 overs. Owing to rain delays Pakistan was to score 289 in 41 overs, but it proved to be a daunting task and they folded for 164. The fielding on both sides was below par with dropped catches and mis-fields.
