South Africa really suffers when their skipper and opener Graeme Smith does not contribute. Incidentally Graeme Smith broke a finger and is out of action.
South Africa outperformed the Australians in the Middle-Order Match Up, but it was not enough to make the top order deficit.
Incidentally the tail enders did not wag for either of the sides.
