1865 -- Birthday of George Lohmann of England, one of the greatest fast bowlers of the 19th century. Captured 112 wickets in just 18 test matches at a staggering 10.75 runs per wicket. Unfortunately tuberculosis cut short an even greater career. By sheer statistics, he ranks in the top echelon even today.
1908 -- Birthday of Gordon Weir all-rounder from New Zealand.. He played 11 Tests during the 30s, and also completed the "double" in first class cricket taking over 100 wickets and scoring over 1000 runs.
1965 -- Birthday of Aussie twin Mark Waugh, great batsman who represented Australia with distinction. Mark played 128 Tests, scoring 20 centuries and taking 181 catches. Steve played 168 matches
1965 -- Birthday of Aussie twin Steve Waugh, one of Australia's all-time greats who set a new standard of excellence. Steve played 168 Test matches, scoring 32 centuries and 10927 runs. His personal brand of captaincy was inspirational.
1971 -- Birthday of Martin Suji of Kenya. Fast bowler who played in three World Cups in 1996, 1999 and 2003. In 2003 was instrumental in Kenya's shock victory of Zimbabwe with figures of 3-19, winning him the man of the match award.
