Analytics Behind India's Chase
Target of 321 runs to be scored in 50 overs, but effectively in 40 overs in order to qualify

Score at end of 13 overs ... 108 for the loss of 2 wickets

Batting Resources still available was 71 % ...
Remaining Chase Target % was lower at 66 %
Excess of Capacity 5 %
Hence at end of 13 overs ... Resource Clock favors India

Score at end of 26 overs ... 196 for the loss of 2 wickets

Batting Resources still available was 48 % ...
Remaining Chase Target % was higher at 39 %
Excess of Capacity 9 %
Hence at end of 26 overs ... Resource Clock has strongly tilted in India's favor

During the Opening Overs, India did lose wickets but were ahead of the Resource Clock Index. During the Middle Overs they maintained their wickets and went further ahead of the Resource Clock, because of a decent run rate and no loss of wickets.

During the critical end overs, India continued its march ahead, accelerated at the right time and won the game quite comfortably in the 37th over itself.

One of the rare occasions when a 50 over ODI chase had a Twenty-20 flavor, but on larger scale. It was Virat Kohli's match, a defining moment for him.
