Setting records has become commonplace for Sachin Tendulkar. He is the all time leader for runs and centuries in both five dat Tests and one day internationals. He has reached 30,000 runs in all forms, with his closest rival, Ricky Ponting of Australia, still 6000 behind.

Sachin has five calendar years with 1000 or more runs - 2008 (1063), 2002 (1392), 1999 (1088) and 1997 ( 1000 runs). Sunil Gavaskar is the only other indian with four seasons of 1000+ runs. Only Tendulkar, Hayden, Ponting and Lara have five seasons with 1000 or more runs in Test cricket.

Sachin has scored centuries against all Test playing countries. He is the third batsman to achieve this distinction after Steve Waugh and Gary Kirsten. The current list also includes Lara, Ponting, Dravid, Kallis, Gilchrist and Atapattu.
